Milwaukee Things to Do

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

Looking for things to do in Milwaukee this weekend? I got your back. After being in Milwaukee for 10+ years we know how to have a good time in this city. No matter the season this list is sure to give you something worth your time. This is a mix of food, entertainment, outdoor and indoor activities. It is also a mix of things downtown Milwaukee and in surrounding suburbs depending on your location. If you have questions please feel free to leave them in the comments.

ComedySportz

ComedySportz is an improv show in Milwaukee that is put on for everyone. Whether you are on a first date, want to bring conservative parents, or make it is night for the family it is always a great show. The format of the show stays similar week after week, but is different because of so much audience interactions. At the show there is a full bar and kitchen as well as different show times ranging from family friendly, to slightly on the riskier side.

Lakefront Brewery Tour

You don’t read a “Things to do in Milwaukee List” without Lakefront Brewery on it and there is good reason for it. I have been on brewery tours all around Milwaukee and other cities as well and Lakefront continues to be fun and unique. For $16 you get to tour the brewery, get 4 different samples throughout the tour as well as the opportunity to enjoy the polka band, the Milwaukee river, or a fish fry depending on the day and time of year that you are there. It is a great atmosphere and if you are in the mood for some foor, their cheese curds are a can’t miss.

Don’s TV & Repair Speakeasy

Speakeasy vibes AND an ice cream cocktail? Yes it is possible here. To go to Don’s you need to know the password which you get upon making a reservation. You go inside a special entrance and then you get to experience a unique environment. It is a relaxing vibe, which is not typical of every speakeasy which I personally prefer, but just a good to know ahead of time.

Luxe Golf Bays

For some reason Top Golf still has not made its way to Milwaukee, but Luxe Golf Bays are a close comparison. The best part is you don’t have to be a great golfer to have a good time. This is a great night with a group of people so grab your friends and head to Franklin.

Milwaukee Zoo

The Milwaukee Zoo is open year-round and has indoor and outdoor viewing spots for you to check out animals throughout the entire year. There are different events throughout the year like Brew at the Zoo, Zoo A La Cart, and Zoo Lights, but our favorite is just to go on any random day. We have so much fun checking out our favorite animals (typically the bears and giraffes.)

Milwaukee Public Market

This is a typical Milwaukee cliche, but the public market is a very unique experience. Head there for lunch or just to grab a drink and people-watch. Many Milwaukee small businesses are in the Public Market and it is very cool to see everything they have to offer in one place. This place does get crowded though so I recommend going right when it opens or just be prepared to wait in lines and have some patience.

Axe Throwing

Axe throwing is in multiple cities around the country now, but if you haven’t tried it I really reccommend it. It is a really fun date night or with a group of friends. You can simply take turns throwing for the best shot, or try different games are also available to play to different strengths. While you are on the east side, it is also worth checking out Crossroads Collective for something you eat.

Crossroads Collective

Everytime my husband and I come here we wonder why more places don’t do what they have here. 4 different restraunts all in one area, similar to a mall food court, but with great options. There is sandwiches, pasta, ice cream, etc. So if you are a picky eater or have one in your family come here, because it will please everyone with all their options.

3rd Street Market Hall

Similar to Crossroads collective, third street market has many different restraunts, but it also has many different things to do. There is shuffle board, bags, Topgolf Swing Suite, Giant Jenga, etc. There is always a mix of crowds here, from young couples, to older groups, even young families.

Milwaukee Sports Games

Milwaukee has plenty of sports teams and each offers a different experience. Whether you want to watch a Brewers game or Bucks game that may be your first thought when it comes to sports in the city. However, there are more options you may not think of. The Milkmen games in Franklin are reasonable and offer great entertainment. Might be worth it if you enjoy games, but not sure if your little ones can sit through a full game yet. Admirals Hockey is also a way to get some entertainment. The best part of these is sometimes there are concerts after. Truely a two for 1 night of entertainment!
