Books to Read in 2024

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

This is going to go beyond the typical Book-Tok fan favorites. While I do love those for ideas, I have complied a list of books that have not just been popular since 2020. Don’t worry I will include some of those too, but if you are already through all those books check out this list to get books to read in 2024.

Book Genre of Choice = Little bit of RomCom Little bit of Psychological Thriller. While this may be a sticker my SIL got me for my kindle, it truely describes exactly what type of books I like to read. Because of this I broke down my favorite books from the last 5 years in each of the following categories, Thrillers, RomComs, and Self Help.

Reading a book while cozy

Thriller Books

For whatever reason, I love a good thriller. Scary movies, haunted houses, that is going to be a no for me. However, Thriller books I can get onboard with and these are easily some of my favorites. I also love to read these books after all the RomComs.

  1. The Overnight Guest
  2. The Social Climber
  3. The Perfect Marriage
  4. Sharp Objects
  5. A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder

RomCom Books

  1. The Infinity Between Us
  2. The Hotel Nantucket
  3. The Friend Zone

Self Help Books

These are very specific for the time in my life. I was interested in getting off hormonal birth control and learning more information. These books were super helpful with how to prepare my body to go off the pill as well learn about how to plan and prevent pregnancy that best fit our family

  1. In the FLO: Unlock Your Hormonal Advantage and Revolutionize Your Life
  2. Beyond the Pill

These books are some of my all time favorites and would reccomend to put on your want to read list this upcoming year. For more books that I am currently loving follow my goodreads I also love to switch up the book genres based on the season. I am a seasonal reader:

  • Winter – Holiday RomComs
  • Spring – Thrillers
  • Summer – Beach Read RomComs
  • Fall – Back to the thrillers for spooky season.
